Manna Story with the babes

Hi guys! Happy weekends! I'm so glad that I met up with my babes yesterday for a short dinner gathering at Manna Story (Jcube). The food was awesome, mainly also because of the awesome company I had. Which made the whole meal so enjoyable! We sort of over ordered, but still finished up everything nonetheless. This goes to show how good the food is!
So here are the pictures that we took yesterday!

Love this girls! <3

So after a round of picture spamming, we went to Manna Story for our dinner!
Cute decorations right outside the restaurant
Awesome view of the ice skating ring from the restaurant
Spammed more pictures before food was served! and LOL at my face. Hahahha.

Okay, and then it was time for food!
We ordered a set for 2 pax, a chicken bulgoggi, and a portion of korean rice cakes with cheese.
First up, banchan!
A variety of korean side dishes. Yums!
Pumpkin soup which tasted like pumpkin puree to me.
Chapchae (Stir fried vegetables with vermicelli)
I don't know the name of this dish, but it tasted a little like satay chicken in our opinion.
Chicken bulgogi. This dish was part of the set that we ordered.
Miso Soup with loads of ingredients in it
An assortment of pancakes and fried cucumber
Chicken Bulgoggi. Apparently we didn't know that there was already this dish in the set for 2 pax, and ordered it again. But it's really yummy, so we finished it all! Haha!
Saba Fish
Korean rice cakes in spicy sauce topped with cheese
Complimentary pancake when you spend above $40. This was the bomb! It's so yummy! The sides of the pancakes were really crispy, but the pancake was still so moist and good. especially when you dip into the sauce that comes with the pancake. It is simply heavenly! Slurps!

Snapped 3 more pictures with our table of food before we digged in. This is too satisfying! Noms!

So I've basically come to a conclusion that when you visit Manna Story, you must definitely order the Pancake, rice cakes in spicy sauce, zhapchae and the Chicken bulgoggi. Please do take note that the portions are really quite big, so don't over order! :)

Yup, that's all I have to share for this post. Will be back with more korean food places in the next post. Have been too much of a Korean food fan these days! Heeee!

Have a great weekend!

It's Friday!

Hi guys, I'm back with a short update on what I did on Friday, which was yesterday. So basically I had lessons till 6.30pm and I rushed off to Jcube to meet beloved Lay Peng and Jasmine for dinner at Chili's. It's actually my 2nd time visiting Chili's. The first time was about a year back when I visited the outlet at Sentosa. Food wise, I must say that the portions are really huge for the chips, and they are refillable. As for the other dish Crispy Honey-Chipotle Chicken Crispers®, I felt that the portions were cut down from the previous time I went. Nonetheless, they are still pretty yummy I must say.
Here are some pictures that we took!

We ordered some drinks while waiting for Jas to arrive.

 <3

Then the food came! We were famished by then!
 Chips with Salsa.
 Crispy Honey-Chipotle Chicken Crispers®
Personally, I felt that the chicken was coated with too much sauce, which made it a little too sweet to my liking. Other than that, everything else was good! We changed the sides to potato salad instead of the usual corn bob.

Just by ordering these 2 dishes, we were already pretty full. Probably from all that yummy chips! The total damage for that meal was $46.80 which I thought was pretty reasonable. So I'll definitely be back for more, and I think it's a perfect place for gatherings, and their dishes are great for sharing.

After dinner, we went to Nana's Green Tea Cafe for a round of desserts and chit chat session.

BUT before that, girls are always girls. We always have to camwhore a little in the washroom right? Hahah!
My cutie pies! :)

Awesome green tea float and some green tea dessert.
I didn't really fancy the dessert cause I thought it was a tad too sweet. Nonetheless, it's still quite special. Give it a try if you're a green tea fan!

JB day trip with the babes

Hi guys, I'm back with the JB trip post that the babes and I went last Saturday. We met at about 10am and headed to Kranji Mrt to take bus 170. Guess what, the queue was intimidating long, and we couldn't even board the bus. So our last resort was to take some other bus that would lead us to somewhere near the Woodlands Checkpoint and we had to walk all the way in. I swear that was the longest walk ever, and that sort of dampened our mood a little. The weather on Saturday was pretty bad too, from drizzles to heavy rain when we reached JB. Nonetheless, we still braved the rain and cabbed to Holiday Plaza, where we got some Iphone accessories and Lay Peng and I got hair curlers, so I can officially curl my hair myself now! AWESOME! Alright, some pictures to go!

First Stop: Old Town at City Square to settle our brunch!
Awesome Iced Hazelnut Coffee
We were so thirsty! Hahaha!
And we ordered 4 sets of Old Town Chicken Nasi Lemak with extra chilli! We were famished by the time we reached Old Town and started gobbling down our food. So that explains why there are pretty little pictures. Haha. Oh well, this goes to show that the nasi lemak is really delicious! All four of us loved it!

After our hearty brunch, we walked around City Square and headed to Holiday Plaza! We were too busy looking for a nice iphone cover that the four of us can change to, and busy making friends with all the sales people there, in an attempt to get a discount. Hah! They didn't give us a lot of discount, but it's just so fun to ask them to lower the price, even if it's just 1RM. Apparently we failed in the end, but it's a good experience. Headed to KSL Mall to do some light shopping, and have 51 tauhuay!
And guess who we saw there while walking around in Watsons.
"Mr WAHWAHWAH!" aka Clive and his girlfriend Hui Shi. Hahaha! It was damn epic, Clive saw us and went like "Wah Wah Wah" and we were like "OMG!" So amazed that we can actually meet friends in JB. Heh! So a group picture is a must! Heh!

Yup, pretty glad to see familiar faces in a foreign land. Haha, so we were feeling a little hungry and tired, we decided to try out Oyster King that is located at the basement of KSL.
Tired faces
Yummy oyster omelette and fried beehoon with lala. We ordered two sets. Each set comes with one Oyster Omelette and one Fried Bee Hoon with lala. The Oyster omelette is pretty different from the ones we have in Singapore. It's a bit more like the carrot cake that we have, but the oysters were really fresh. The beehoon was really good too, with generous portions of the ingredients. The lala and egg. So it's a good choice to try this stall out.

And what's a girls date out without some desserts?
And so we had 51 Soya Beancurd for desserts! It's so good! Totally comparable to Laoban! Noms!

Just before we took a cab back to the customs, we just had to buy some Auntie Anne's pretzel back, cause the prices are so affordable! Almost half of what the Singapore pretzels are priced at.
Awesome pretzels. I'm actually craving for the cinnamon and sugar one now. It's too yummy!

Yup, that's about all that we did in JB on Saturday. Pretty sad that we didn't get to eat the awesome shabu shabu. But we still had fun nonetheless. Anyway, I've come to a conclusion that it's really a better choice to head to JB on a weekday. With shorter queues for the bus ride and lesser people at the shopping malls.

Alright, I shall end my post here and head to bed really soon!

Have a great Friday and I'll be back really soon!

Love,
Su Shan
