JB day trip with the babes

Hi guys, I'm back with the JB trip post that the babes and I went last Saturday. We met at about 10am and headed to Kranji Mrt to take bus 170. Guess what, the queue was intimidating long, and we couldn't even board the bus. So our last resort was to take some other bus that would lead us to somewhere near the Woodlands Checkpoint and we had to walk all the way in. I swear that was the longest walk ever, and that sort of dampened our mood a little. The weather on Saturday was pretty bad too, from drizzles to heavy rain when we reached JB. Nonetheless, we still braved the rain and cabbed to Holiday Plaza, where we got some Iphone accessories and Lay Peng and I got hair curlers, so I can officially curl my hair myself now! AWESOME! Alright, some pictures to go!

First Stop: Old Town at City Square to settle our brunch!
Awesome Iced Hazelnut Coffee
We were so thirsty! Hahaha!
And we ordered 4 sets of Old Town Chicken Nasi Lemak with extra chilli! We were famished by the time we reached Old Town and started gobbling down our food. So that explains why there are pretty little pictures. Haha. Oh well, this goes to show that the nasi lemak is really delicious! All four of us loved it!

After our hearty brunch, we walked around City Square and headed to Holiday Plaza! We were too busy looking for a nice iphone cover that the four of us can change to, and busy making friends with all the sales people there, in an attempt to get a discount. Hah! They didn't give us a lot of discount, but it's just so fun to ask them to lower the price, even if it's just 1RM. Apparently we failed in the end, but it's a good experience. Headed to KSL Mall to do some light shopping, and have 51 tauhuay!
And guess who we saw there while walking around in Watsons.
"Mr WAHWAHWAH!" aka Clive and his girlfriend Hui Shi. Hahaha! It was damn epic, Clive saw us and went like "Wah Wah Wah" and we were like "OMG!" So amazed that we can actually meet friends in JB. Heh! So a group picture is a must! Heh!

Yup, pretty glad to see familiar faces in a foreign land. Haha, so we were feeling a little hungry and tired, we decided to try out Oyster King that is located at the basement of KSL.
Tired faces
Yummy oyster omelette and fried beehoon with lala. We ordered two sets. Each set comes with one Oyster Omelette and one Fried Bee Hoon with lala. The Oyster omelette is pretty different from the ones we have in Singapore. It's a bit more like the carrot cake that we have, but the oysters were really fresh. The beehoon was really good too, with generous portions of the ingredients. The lala and egg. So it's a good choice to try this stall out.

And what's a girls date out without some desserts?
And so we had 51 Soya Beancurd for desserts! It's so good! Totally comparable to Laoban! Noms!

Just before we took a cab back to the customs, we just had to buy some Auntie Anne's pretzel back, cause the prices are so affordable! Almost half of what the Singapore pretzels are priced at.
Awesome pretzels. I'm actually craving for the cinnamon and sugar one now. It's too yummy!

Yup, that's about all that we did in JB on Saturday. Pretty sad that we didn't get to eat the awesome shabu shabu. But we still had fun nonetheless. Anyway, I've come to a conclusion that it's really a better choice to head to JB on a weekday. With shorter queues for the bus ride and lesser people at the shopping malls.

Alright, I shall end my post here and head to bed really soon!

Have a great Friday and I'll be back really soon!

Auntie Kim's Korean Restaurant

Hi guys! It has been almost a week since I last wrote a post. Have been really busy juggling both work and giving tuition at night. But it's a temporary job before my school commences in August, so I shall just bear with the 2 more weeks! Alright, so just last Friday, my colleagues and I went to Auntie Kim's Korean Restaurant for lunch. I love the food there, especially the kimchi fried rice. We ordered a couple of dishes and they were all really good. The prices are a little steep though, but it's definitely worth it for the quality of food. All the sides were delicious too. We especially love the sweet potato and of course, the kimchi! Here are some of the dishes that we ordered!

Some chilled drink that they serve. Tasted a little like rice tea to me though, but it's not sweet.
Side dishes that are refillable
Seafood pancake.
This dish was really yummy! The side of the pancake was crispy and the middle of the pancake was fluffy and filled with ingredients. I really loved this dish! This is definitely a must try for all korean pancake lovers!
Saba fish.
I didn't get to try this, but according to my colleagues, this fish is really fresh and doesn't have that fishy smell.
Ginseng Chicken Soup
I thought that this dish was a tad too bland. All my other colleagues felt so too, and we had to add some soy sauce to make it saltier. I must say that this is a pretty healthy dish, with less salt and oil. It would be nice to have this ginseng soup on a cold and rainy day.
Korean Jajangmyeon (Black Sauce Noodles)
My colleagues and I loved this noodles. The sauce may look really black, but it is not very salty, and when you mix it with the springy noodles, it is simply perfect! Oh and I must say that the noodles are really very springy and bouncy. Haha. Very very nice dish. Everyone should totally try this. But there's one thing to note, if you really dislike onions, please do not order this dish. It is overloaded with onions!
Kimchi fried rice with pork
This fried rice must be my favourite out of all. I absolutely adore fried rice, and this is definitely one of the better ones. Just look the the sunny side up, the yolk is so runny and thick. When we mix it up with the rice, everything is just super good. I'm so gonna go back and have this again. Oh and we requested for extra spicy, so they sprinkled chilli padi all over the rice. Honestly speaking, the chilli padi was really a bit too much. So unless you are really someone who can't live without spicy stuff, please just order the normal kimchi fried rice.

All in all, I really have to say that this is official one of my favourite Korean Restaurants from now on. I will definitely be back for more of these awesome stuff. Most of their staff in this restaurant is from Korea I guess, and they will greet you with smiles and of course in Korean language. Haha, makes me feel like I'm really in Korea.

Alright, just before I end, I have my outfit of the day photo to share. Heheheh, haven't been taking that many OOTD pictures during work, so this is one of the rare times that I have time to take my outfit of the day!

Loving my polka dots skirt, and I think I look really happy in these photos. Hahaha.

Outing with The Babes

Hi guys! It's finally Thursday! One more day to the weekends! I really can't wait for work to end tomorrow so I can hang out with my favourite people, aka The babes! We've been meeting up very often these days, and I'm absolutely loving every single time we meet up! We will be on a constant haunt for nice brunch and supper places, which means I'll be able to share it with you guys! How awesome right? :) Alright, so last week we met up and had a whole day of fun! Our first stop was to have brunch at Pique Nique, next to Kbox and the movie Dictator, then for some mini shopping and dinner at this awesome ramen place, followed by mahjong at Lay Peng's house and supper! Totally a whole day filled with activities! Pretty tiring, but extremely fun too! So here are some of the pictures that I have to share!

 Brunch at Pique Nique!
All the single ladies~ Hahahah!
All of us Obsessed with Instagram. Hahaha!

After about 20 mins of wait, our food finally arrived!
All the four girls ordered this same dish. The farmer's omelette which we all thought was quite good!
Look at all the ingredients! YUMS!
Trey's meatball pasta

The sweet sweet couple with their food!
 And us with our omelette!

We only ordered two varieties of food the other time, so I can't exactly comment on whether the other varieties that Pique Nique serve is good. However, I personally feel that they have nice omelette. The ingredients inside the omelette was yummy, and goes will with the toast. The price of this omelette is really reasonable too. So if you love omelette, please do give it a try.

After brunch, we went off to Cine for Kbox and our movie! I swear The Dictator is extremely hilarious! I literally laughed from the start of the movie to the end. We were so obsessed with the movie such that we even went to download the songs of the movie and I actually attempted to come up with a dance for it. Really silly, but well, best friends does silly things together right? Hahaha!
Love these girls to bits! The babes forever! <3
And then we started spamming videos in Kbox. Super funny and happy! We were all just enjoying ourselves, and it was super fun!!

We had ramen for dinner after our movie and kbox session.
This is the awesome ramen place! Everyone should at least come here once to try it! They have the best garlic fried rice and gyozas in my opinion!
The interior. Not exactly classy, but they serve super nice food at affordable prices!
Lay Peng's Tianjin fan It is actually rice with some ingredients and a super yummy sauce!
Trey's dinner set! Super huge and it's only $18! Mega worth it!
Our ramen!
And last but not least, our awesome gyoza! This is really awesome! I'm missing it now, should head to Somerset to have this soon!

All of them loved this place too, so I'm glad that I didn't make a wrong recommendation! Hehe. So all Jap food lovers, or rather, everyone should visit this place! The food definitely wouldn't disappoint!

Next up, we went to Lay Peng's house for Mahjong, and being a newbie, I actually "ZHA HU" which means I thought I won, but actually I was still lacking of some tiles to win that round. So pathetic right? No beginners luck at all. I really need some mahjong master to give me a crash course before I can play mahjong again! Hahaha! And so we were supposed to go to Swee Choon for supper that night, but apparantly it was a Tuesday night and Swee Choon is closed on Tuesdays. Gosh, damn unlucky. Luckily we didn't make a wasted trip from the West to the East. We found another dimsum place which is Wan Dou Sek "126" in Cantonese.
Haha, read the Chinese characters.
Dimsum that we ordered. We were feeling extremely sad that Swee Choon wasn't open, and furthermore it was really late at night, so we didn't order that much. My personal favourite must be the Chee Cheong Fun. I liked the sauce. It's the thick sauce kind, unlike the usual soy sauce CCF. I guess this place is really famous, with like lots of people eating there at about 4am and cabs waiting around. So if you're hungry in the middle of the night, and you live in the East, head down to "126" for supper!
