Loving my new set of tribal nails

Hello! Happy Sunday everyone! I'm so happy that I got a new set of pretty tribal nails! I swear my aunt is so talented, I just showed her a picture of the design that I want, and she just painted my nails. It's so colourful and vibrant now! I simply love it! Oh and, my aunt does manicure and pedicure for outsiders too, at a cheap cheap price of $12 for mani and $15 for pedi. And guess what? It's flat rate of $12 & $15 respectively for any designs! You can choose from the designs that she already drew, or just show her a design that you would like to have. She'll definitely try to come out with something similar. So alright, here are some pictures of the tribal nails that I have now! Geeez.

The three colours that I chose. Orange, yellow & turquoise.

My aunt doing what she loves.

Almost done.

The end product! My tribal nails!

I love it so much that I can't stop admiring it, so more pictures of my nails!

Candid shots while using the phone

Tribal nails, with a skull ring. Geeez

Fiddling with my hair

Hahhaha! Yup! That's about all the pictures that I took for my new set of nails! LOVE IT! Heh! If you like this set of nails as well, and would like to engage my aunt for a mani/pedi session, or if you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment! :)

Have a great week ahead lovelies!

Simplicity is Bliss

I love my hot cakes soaked in loads of maple syrup. It gives me the blissful feeling

A simple MacDonalds hot cake meal for breakfast makes my day. Haven't had hot cakes for such a long time. My parents used to bring me to Macs for breakfast every weekend when I was much younger. I still remember that they would cut up the hot cakes into different shapes and attempt to test me what shape that was. Haha. Really cute parents I have. It's just really nice to be able to go to somewhere and eat something that seems so normal, yet brings back lots of sweet memories.

Have a great weekend guys

Su Shan

How I spent my Thursday

TGIF people! Although I'm cooped at home for the whole day, I still hope that all of you will have a great time out today! Alright, time is running short. I have less than a week to the first paper in my first year of uni. Alright, honestly speaking, I'm not taking it very seriously because I intend to change school and course. Well, I know it's kind of a random decision, afterall I haven't gone for the exams and who knows? I might fare well right? Hah. However, I think this decision of me applying to another school will be a right one. At least I'm doing something that I like.

Okay, back to the topic, what I did on Thursday. Met up with my friends for a study session at the other ulu campus. The place is really quiet and super little people will hang out there, so it's a good place to study at if you have the transport there. Some pictures that I took.

Met RC and JY earlier for a heavy breakfast. (My fav zhajiangmian) Too awesome!

A shoe shot while waiting for Mr Faiz to arrive and fetch us to the other campus

After waiting for about an hour, he finally came....

And off we went!

A picture of the campus

We managed to book a discussion room at the library

Miss RC, our teacher of the day

Our messy table that housed 6 people. Heh

After studying for a few hours, we decided that we should have a break, and have some food! So we ordered Mac Delivery! The very bo liao Mr Dex actually made an effort to arrange 14 packets of chilli sauce nicely. Kudos to his effort, and boliao-ness.

Yea, one and only picture of me that day!

Alright, just one more picture of my studded pocket

And so, after studying for awhile more, we decided that we needed some entertainment. This is Faiz's chinese name. Wee Shiun literally translated his name into these chinese characters. So creative, but I must say that his handwriting is really quite nice. Hah.

**************

We studied till about 7pm, and left the place. I went off to meet Jasmine for a really impromptu dessert date. Saw her tweet that she wanted dessert, and since I was gonna be home alone, I joined her!

My dessert date :)

Awesome dessert that contains grass jelly, yam Q, pearls, sweet potato balls, some black sugar jelly and shaved ice. I remember having these yam balls when I was in Taiwan. It somewhat tastes similar, but less sweet than those that I had there. You must eat it with the shaved ice, if not the yam ball itself will be quite bland. However, it's still nice. If you want to have a taste of the very famous Taiwan Jiufen yam balls, this can be an alternative.

We decided to go for prata at Al Ameen since we haven't been there for such a long time. We set off to Al Ameen happily, but we left being extremely dissatisfied customers. Why? Because their standards dropped tremendously. The cheese prata that we ordered was overly rubbery and salty, and the mee goreng was too salty as well. I remembered that they used to serve yummy pratas. What happened? Oh man, the only saving grace was the curry.

Lots of varieties, but not nice. (Well, at least those that we ordered wasn't nice)

Cheese prata. Looks good, but looks can be deceiving. Boohoo.

Salty Mee goreng

I'm not sure if the other patrons felt that the food wasn't as good as last time, but Jas and I definitely felt so. We're off in search for other good prata places. Any recommendations?

Address:

Al Ameen Eating House - Bukit Timah
4 Cheong Chin Nam Road S599727
And to make things worse, we never put car coupon cause it was already at night, and I really didn't think that the parking attendant would come at that timing. Being very suay that day, we got a $30 summon. Totally not worth it at all. We totally felt like crying on the spot. Manz. No choice, just take it as a lesson learnt. BOOHOOO! :(

But I still must thank Jas for the ride home, and she's really a steady female driver. So am I. Heh. *Winks* So don't stereotype all female drivers anymore! Heehee! More of such supper dates soon!

Alright, I shall end my post here. Remember to give the dessert a try!

Su Shan

Riders Cafe, and a girls day out

 Welcome to Riders Cafe

Hello people! Happy weekends! I'm sure all of you have plans on where to go for nice meals on Sunday. If you're a fan of weekend brunch, then you're in for a treat! I'm gonna be introducing this brunch place that is highly raved by a lot of people for it's nice ambience, surroundings, and of course not forgetting the awesome food that they serve. So this place that I'm talking about is none other than Riders Cafe.

It's located in the midst of Saddle Club along Bukit Timah Road. Away from all the hustle and bustle of our typical Singapore City. It's a great way to relax on a weekend morning, with beautiful scenery and if you're lucky, you might just be able to see horses galloping/trotting around. However, it's rather inaccessible if you do not have your own transport. There's close to no way that you can try walking in from the nearest bus stop. So do grab your car keys, or flag for a cab if you really want to visit this beautiful restaurant.

Alright, time for some pictures, but before I reveal to you how this restaurant looks like, I'll first reveal my brunch date for today. Heh.

YAY! I got the car from my dad, so we have transport to the Cafe

Concentration level: 99/100

While Miss Hiromi started camwhoring

To be sure that we get to the place correctly, an old school map, and an Iphone google map is needed

After driving for about 30 mins, we've finally made our way to the Saddle Club.

Look at the road, I swear I was kind of scared when I was driving, cause I didn't know that it was a two way road, but I love that there are trees at both sides of the road. we're one step closer to the nature and to our destination

*Wide grin* and thumbs up, cause I made it safely to our destination and I managed to PARK! :D

Located at Bukit Timah Saddle Club

The exterior of the cafe, looking really like a brunch spot in Melbourne

Alright, finally, I've come to you, Riders Cafe.

Some pictures of the interior of the cafe

Here's a picture of the brunch and beverages menu for readers who are interested in visiting this place

Really cute coaster with a Horse shoe stamp

We placed our orders, and started doing what we do best - Camwhore.

I love it that they serve iced water in a jug, and they'll refill it for you from time to time

Hiromi's Iced Latte ($5.50) and my Iced Choocolate ($5)

Cheers for a great weekend!

Our food finally arrived after about 15 mins

I had "The Usual" ($16) which consists of Mushrooms, Tomatoes, Smoked bacon, Breakfast Banger, Omelette & Sourdough
It's pretty good I must say. You can choose how you want your eggs to be done. I chose to have omelette. The mushrooms were tasty and the bacon was good. What I liked most was the tomatoes and the sourdough. The tomatoes were surprisingly fresh and sweet. I loved it. It's worth every penny of yours for this plate of goodness.

Hiromi's Eggs Cream and Corn ($15) which consists of Scrambled Eggs, Tomatoes, Cream Corn Polenta, Portobello and Sourdough. This is a vegetarian set. I love how they cater for our vegetarian friends who visits this cafe. Hiromi is not a vegetarian though, just that she had to go vegetarian today. From what she says, she kind of liked her set, and she loved the bread as well.

More pictures with our food

We left promptly after finishing our meal, as there were many other patrons waiting for a seat. So do remember to make an online reservation before you head down to the cafe, if not you'll have to wait.

The very nice manager of the cafe helped us with this beautiful picture.

This picture too, as well as two other polaroid pictures. Heh.

We walked around and snapped more pictures of the beautiful place, and of course, more pictures of ourselves!

I love this picture of a lonesome tree. #foreveralone

It was drizzling the whole time we were there

Hiromi looking happy!

Cute sign, drive slowly, cause horses might trot down the road anytime

Please do not drive at above 30km/h in the Saddle Club

I'm so happy to be free from stress for that 2 hours or so

Ohhh yes, the polaroid picture, it's a little dark though

Alright, it's time for the ratings of Riders Cafe
