Impromtu JB trip with my mum

Happy midweek people! How has your week been? My mum and I went on an impromptu JB trip yesterday. Mum took leave yesterday, so we decided to go to JB for food, food and more food! So sad that my dad couldn't join us, but we can always go in again on a weekend! :) We left house at about 11am and only reached KSL mall at about 1pm. I was famished by the time we got there. So we headed to my favourite shabu shabu restaurant! I swear that the milk broth is extremely yummy and addictive! Everyone should order the milk broth when you visit the restaurant. Basically my mum and I just ate throughout the whole day trip. I shall let the pictures do the talking then!

We reached the Malaysia customs and my mum wanted to try out the Malaysia bus, so we took a bus to KSL instead of a cab. I swear this was the worst decision ever. The bus uncle said he needed the washroom, and we waited for more than 15 mins before he came back. The whole journey was bumpy, and the initial 10 mins cab ride became a 30 mins bus ride. Man, my mum and I were so pissed then, but everything was fine when we reached KSL mall. Oh but one thing I have to say is that their bus rides are really cheap! RM1.50 per person.

KSL City! My current favourite mall in JB
Arashi shabu shabu, a must eat whenever I go to JB
  Yummy Gyoza (RM9.90)
Shabu shabu set for one (RM22.90)

The set consists of:
Pork shoulder
Assorted vegetables and other ingredients
Vermicelli

We were so hungry, so instead of sharing the shabu shabu, my mum ordered a hot stone bowl rice
Salmon hot stone bowl rice (RM22.90)

This was our brunch! My mum loved the milk broth, and everything we ordered! So glad that my mum liked my recommendation. Okay, so after brunch, we went to walk around and I bought some pretty ribbon hair accessories. After that, my mum, the coffee lover decided to head to the nearby cafe for a cup of coffee.

Snapped a picture of my pretty ribbon hair accessories
Mum's coffee and toast
My milk tea with less sugar

My mum kind of liked the coffee, but she thought that the toast wasn't buttery enough. Haha, I didn't really enjoyed my glass of milk tea, but the super affordable price made up for it.

Sweet sweet mangoes

Yup, so mum and I headed over to Holiday Plaza to walk around, and I bought a hair straightener to curl the bottom of my hair. Hahah. So gonna use it after I cut my hair to maybe shoulder length? Hmm, should I?
After getting my stuff, we walked back to KSL for more food! Haha!
We had this for pre-dinner. We loved the dry scallops porridge. So yummy! All these cost us RM 12.50. Worth it right? :)

After this pre-dinner, we went back to City Square to get my beard papa cream puffs and shared dinner at Old Town Coffee. I really really loved the Old Town nasi lemak! The chilli is oh so good! My mum even wanted to just buy the chilli itself, but so sad, they don't just sell their chilli alone.
Lime juice
Favourite nasi lemak of all times! (RM8.90)

One last picture of the Malaysia customs before we left for home.

Alright, this basically sums up my one day trip to JB with my mum. Can't wait to go back for more awesome food and I wanna buy more ribbon hair accessories! They are too pretty! Hehehe!

Have a great day guys!

Su Shan

Beloved grandma's birthday lunch @ Jack's Place

Hi guys! I'm back with an update! My whole family went for lunch at Jack's Place for my grandma's birthday lunch today. My grandma loves Jack's place, cause of the ambience and the food. She loves fish and chips. Haha! Oh right, it's my grandma's 78th birthday this year. I really love my grandma, she's been through so much her entire life, and I'm glad that she can just relax at home now. She used to bring me to and fro the babysitter's when I was young, and took great care of me, cause both my parents were at work. She cooks really delicious home cooked delicacies, and even curry puffs, or soon kueh. But because her legs will hurt from standing too long now, she hasn't cooked for many years. I miss all her cooking. I'm also extremely thankful to my grandma for everything. She's seen me grow from a little baby to an adult now. I promise to bring her out for dinners, or buy yummy food to her house on a weekly basis once I graduate and start earning money. So my only wish for her now will be to stay strong, healthy and happy! <3
Alright, some pictures to go!

My awesome grandma <3
Favourite cousins

Cousins whom I'm closest to

My other cousin whom I've been close since young. She's like an elder sister to me.

And then it was time for food!
I loved my combo set! It comes with grilled fish, chicken and steak. Everything was well done! The portions were huge too! Luckily I didn't order a set, if not I would have been so bloated.
YUMSSSS!
The dessert of the day.

So the camwhoring continued after our extremely satisfying lunch
I absolutely adore kids, and this little niece of mine is too cute! If you can tell, I really love her loads! Hehehe!

After everyone was done with their food, we had a cake cutting session!
Coffee cake for my grandma!
Happy birthday girl. Hehehe! Regardless of age, women will always feel happy and smile from within when they feel loved! I'm sure my grandma felt loads of love today, from all her sons, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. <3
2 more shots of grandma cutting her cake.

I realized that the lighting in the restaurant is quite bad, so please pardon me for the darker photos. Oh and I didn't get to take a picture with my parents, cause they were too busy trying to settle everyone down and making sure my grandma has a successful birthday lunch. :)

My family likes the ambience of this particular Jack's Place. The lightings in the restaurant used to be dimmer, and they even had candles on every table, but not anymore. Nonetheless, it's still a nice place to dine at. Pretty much a family oriented restaurant in my opinion.
