Of Melbourne City and St Kilda Beach (03/08/11-13/08/11)

Hi guys! I'm back with a post on my Melbourne trip as promised in the previous post. This post will be on Melbourne central and St Kilda beach. These pictures were actually taken on the first day that I was there. Bernice skipped her lecture to accompany me for the day. First up, she brought me to St Kilda beach for some fresh oysters, fish and chips, as well as calamaris! My favourite! Took some really pretty shots of the beach, and spotted a really cute and hairy dog. Of course, we just had to eat along the way. Headed back to Melbourne central after we're done with lunch, and did some light shopping, as well as having tea. Our last stop of the day was to Crown. A casino in Melbourne. If you're a tourist and you present your passport to them, you'll be given AUD$5 to play. Of course, you can choose to keep it and spend on something else! Heh. Alright, here are some pictures!

ANZ Bank, just a street across Bernice's place.

Look at the trees, I call them the winter trees. Love it!

Happy me!

Because Bernice lives in the City, so we only have to take the tram around Melbourne City

YAY the tram to the City is here!

The interior of the tram. Comfy cushioned seats

 I see Krispy Kreme!

Look at the flavours! Yums!

We got one doughnut to share while waiting for the tram

YAY! Tram spotted! Changed tram to St Kilda

Do you see the beach?

Funfair! But too bad it was closed when we were there

As we walked to the fish and chips place, we saw this shop selling all these pastries. Looks too good to resist, but I didn't get to try them. :(

I just had to take a picture with the pastries

Saw these graffiti walls, really pretty right?

Look at the roof of the salon.

Hugeeeee Fish head

Half a dozen of fresh oysters

After our hearty lunch, we took a stroll down the beach, and took pictures, as well as jumpshots! My favourite. Hehehe.

Jump shot number 1

The extremely cute and furry dog that I mentioned at the start of the post

Yup, don't doubt me, this is a dog.

Too cute!

Jump shot number 2

I love the beach!

 A restaurant along the beach

Beautiful beach! I wanna go there again!

Doesn't this look like an extremely huge pineapple?

We took the tram back to Melbourne City for tea!

Yummy macaroons recommended by Bernice

We got 4 different flavours and headed to the cafe for some latte and hot chocolate

Cute interior of the cafe with chairs hanging on the ceiling

I really wonder how they come up with such pretty artwork on a cup of drink

Finished our tea break, and continued walking around.

 Pretty flowers

We walked around till about 7pm, and we decided to head to Crown. Their age limit is 18 years old, so as long as you're above 18, you can just go in and have a look!

Didn't exactly take a proper picture. This is the best that I have.

We went in and played blackjack, and I lost the 5 bucks that Crown gave to me. Haha. Oh well, hard luck.

After a few rounds, we decided that it was time for dinner! Headed back Melbourne Central for dinner! That restaurant serves the best gyozas and Jap rice bowl ever! The portions were extremely huge, and very tasty! I was so upset that I didn't get to go back to that restaurant on my last day in Melbourne. But oh well, it's really awesoeme! Look at the pictures, and you'll drool.

I can't remember the name of this rice bowl, but it has chicken, egg, carrot strips, huge portion of rice, and very tasty sauce.

Ox tail rice bowl. Yummers!

Taaaadahhhh the fat, juicy, and crispy gyozas! I'm drooling now!

This was one of the best meals that I had over in Melbourne. AWESOME!!

Alright, this basically sums up my first day in Melbourne. Will be back with more pictures of the beautiful memories that I had in Melbourne.

Have a great weekend guys!

Love,
Su Shan
